Announcing the Bloggers' Dinner Party!

I am so thrilled to announce a new event here at Needle and Spatula!  As you can tell from the title of my blog, I love both cooking and crafting, so mealtimes have a special place in my heart where homemade food can be presented on and with handcrafted items.  I also have been so inspired and motivated by all the fun events and parties, like the Bloggers' Quilt Festival and the Bloggers' Pillow Party, that I thought it would be fun to host one here on my blog!

The Bloggers' Dinner Party will be a monthly link-up for you to show off handmade placemats, table runners, napkins, trivets and any other handcrafted item related to serving a delicious dinner!  I haven't decided yet how many months the party will run - if there is enough interest I may keep it going indefinitely.  I will also share links to tutorials and projects of my own as we go (not to mention delicious recipes).

And there will be prizes!  Each month a prize will be awarded to a random winner selected from those who link up to the party - and I will also highlight favorite entries here on the blog.

This month's prize has been generously donated by Sew Fresh Fabrics, an "After Dinner Tea Party with the Ladies" Fat Quarter Bundle! The bundle includes one fat quarter each of Jenaveve Merlot Pebbles, Kona Medium Grey, Kona Green Tea, Ruby Star Rising Vintage Ladies, Kona Tomato, Ruby Star Rising Vintage Dishes, Kona Lagoon, and Kona Curry.  Aren't they gorgeous?  I'm jealous that I'm not in the running to win them!

A dinner party is no fun without guests, so hop on over to the Bloggers' Dinner Party page to learn more, grab a button, and share your projects!

  1. This sounds like so much fun! I will mention it in my link round-up on Friday. Thinking I might join if I can get things a bit more under control around these parts... Yay!

  2. This sounds like fun, but could we link up with a recipe OR a handmade placemat, napkin, etc. item? I hope I can play too but this month I don't know if I can get to yet another project. I have a ton of stuff in the works right now. Thanks, I'll check back.

  5. So glad you all would like to participate! Re: linking up just a recipe vs. a handmade item, I think I am going keep it with the handmade item being required for your entry, but you can enter something from anytime in the past year (whether or not you have previously blogged about it) as long as you put up a new post. And I definitely plan to continue this for at least a few months, so if you don't have time this month hopefully one of the later months will work out better!

  9. What a fun idea. Too bad, I finished my table runner over a year ago. Oh wait, I didn't finish the napkins to go with it. Maybe I will get those done and then I can enter :)
